WHAT IS YOUR DAY JOB?

Development Manager at the Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington

WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN NGGC?

A multitude of reasons! Partly professional development, but also to give back to organizations outside of my current interests and network and help ensure a greater impact in the community. And to meet other cool people also interested in philanthropy!

WHAT NONPROFIT OR CAUSE DO YOU CARE ABOUT?

It's difficult to choose just one, but broadly speaking, I'm passionate about expanding access - from ensuring more can access services and basic needs in our communities to broadening access to professional development and opportunities in the local nonprofit sector. To me, access is key to building a thriving community based in equity and dignity.

HOW ARE YOU STAYING INSPIRED?

My day job and my community feed my inspiration! Working at the Catalogue has helped me learn more about our city and opened doors for reflection, learning, and greater involvement. I'm a voracious reader of both fiction and nonfiction, and the last two books I read (Caste and The Warmth of Other Suns, both by Isabel Wilkerson) lit a fire in me to keep learning and reflecting on my place and my privilege in our world.
